GET TO KNOW YOUR SLATE: President - Nicholas Lutchmansingh

"Be the change that you wish to see in the world" - Mahatma Gandhi

Nicholas Jonathan Lutchmansingh, or “Nick" as he is popularly known, is a third year student at COSTAATT south campus where he is currently pursuing his BA in Mass Communication. He is a great believer in the adage "whatever you put your mind to you can achieve." Nick has pursued his degree with determination and enthusiasm from day one as with everything else he does. Known as the 'Go to Guy,’ he is well respected and admired among his peers and by those who have had the pleasure to work alongside him.

In 2012, Nick formed part of the COSTAATT's South Campus Debate Team which took first place in the inter campus debate. Nick also brought his zeal and passion when he volunteered at the International Press Institute Congress of 2012, representing COSTAATT South Campus.

In addition to his extracurricular and academic accomplishments he has also taken part in highlighting south Trinidad as part of a film project requested by his school, which is soon to be published. Besides just participating in school activities, Nick is also an active executive member on the board of The Society of Severe and Inherited Blood Disorders of Trinidad and Tobago, which advocates on behalf of persons who have inherited blood disorders such as Sickle Cell Anaemia, Haemophilia and Thalassemia. He volunteers his time in bringing a better standard for patients suffering from lifelong diseases.

Nick is known as a people person and one who is easy to approach who does his best to deliver results, a true advocate of progress.

"If installed as the President of the COSTAATT South Campus Student Council, I will lead my team to be more visible, vocal and active, letting our actions speak louder than our words; letting our qualities as individuals foster the confidence, trust and reliability that the student population needs in order to be aware of our convenience, camaraderie and accessiblity." -- Nicholas Lutchmansingh
